Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. One of her first TV appearances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played the character. The actress did not go on to explore acting as a profession after reaching adulthood, as her parents were afraid of the negative impact stress might be a cause of. Perry said that she was too timid to perform during high school, but started performing in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer to the university from Boston University. Perry began her career with New York after graduation, landing minor parts on Law & Order: Criminal Intent. But homesickness made Perry come back to California to work as a stage actress. In 2013, she appeared in The Other Place on Broadway with her mother. Perry was in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winner Anna Christie and Kevin McKidd. This was presented at West Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre Ensemble. Perry was in nine episodes of the ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017, she was a part-time character in the ABC political drama Scandal which starred her father. In the same year, she played a young version of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) as her mother in a younger version. Despite her family link to the character she received the role through an audition.
